Selling on eBay

I had this problem at Xmas where the buyer claimed their money back, Luckily I had recorded/ signed for delivery which you can trace on the Parcel force web site. Paypal took my money but then refunded it when i sent them a copy of the signature phew!!!! I dread Ebay now and will avoid it at all cost!!!0

I agree that it daunts you to sell, with so many con-people around, what chrriss experienced I did too. Paypal SIDE with the buyer and they take the money back out of your account soon as a case opens, and freeze/reverse the funds associated with it until YOU the seller are able to scan the PO receipt showing the flat /house number and the postcode and sent them it and any further evidence ie the feedback you received if any , to fight a chargeback, you must have your wits about you and not be complacent when selling . Hold onto receipts and use signed for post for expensive items.
Conversely, by extreme comparison, I have sold small electronic devices at amazon and they take to do with the financial side( and there is no paypal involved) so you do not have to deal with the buyers money side of things, and I have NEVER had anyone with a dodgy item, or come back and try and say not delivered or anything, and you can sell your mobiles there too , etc etc, and I have had not one chargeback/claim/negative result so I would opt to use amazon over ebay any day , no listing fee, as amazon only take a cut when you sell an item and the price you get is AFTER amazon take off their cut so it is free to list. they show you what they are taking if items sell, before you click the SUBMIT button Much better all round I must admit.NB...People online who are here asking advice for "my friend" they really mean "myself" :eek:0

The winning bid will likely be placed seconds before the end.
It could be a 0 feedback buyer. That's the risk you take.
Some good advice above but don't get paranoid.0

Yeah let's hope a nice person who buys it and not worry unduly if you keep all receipts , try to remember that thieves and scammers are probably quite scarce and majority of people are just on to buy an item cheaply, a lot of people wait to the closing seconds to bid , and that is what put me off auctions. I prefer to sell using buy it now listings, with immediate payment opted for with paypal at checkout, and there is no competing and the buyer knows it's on its way as the money is in situ.
Best of British to a successful sale.NB...People online who are here asking advice for "my friend" they really mean "myself" :eek:0

I don't think this would work either...From what I have read, sellers that have done this before have ended up with a negative PayPal balance and PayPal threatening legal action to reclaim the money. Although I don't know what the outcome of this has been and whether PayPal have actually got bailiffs involved, etc.
Paypal just flog your "debt" to some debt collectors who ring up a lot, but give up after a few weeks."Love you Dave Brooker! x"
