I think some Royal Mail business accounts for volume sellers have discounted prices and VAT applied to all services.

Royal Mail business accounts have VAT charged on postage for all UK services.

OP, I sympathise, very few sellers in my eBay/Amazon categories are VAT registered and it does make it difficult. I try to differentiate myself by knocking spots off the opposition in the customer service stakes and it's really paying off.

    I don't have an accountant
That is a problem, as they should show you ways to avoid / reclaim / write-off tax on things like advertising; capital etc.

and from the sound of things your next step is staff.
Do you want your money back, and a bit more, search for 'money claim online' - They don't like it up 'em Captain Mainwaring

I do feel for the OP. We are a VAT registered business and we buy a lot of our office supplies on eBay (although we don't sell on eBay). We always look out for the VAT registered sellers as often they are the same price or a little bit more but we can then claim the VAT back.

One thing that absolutely frustrated me though is alot of Vat registered sellers are very reluctant to provide VAT invoices with the stuff they sell. In the past month we've had to threaten to contact HMRC to get VAT invoices for items we had bought.
