I am looking for an external DVD rewriter for my tower (I don't know how to put in an internal one!).
What specifications should I be looking for?
Internal ones are much cheaper, but are the simple to fit in an inclosure and then use externally? How would I do this?
Whats the difference between a SATA and a IDE drive?
Thanks

Hi
One solution is to buy an internal DVD writer and fit it in place of the CD rom drive that's fitted already. It's quite easy to do.
Look at some of these:-http://svp.co.uk/products-list.php?so=A&pg=
The LiteOn DH-20A1P-45C 20x DVD Writer looks OK at £12.98 + postage.Never interrupt your enemy when he is making a mistake.0 -
It's pretty easy to install an internal writer.
Those LiteOn's are pretty good, have installed several in friends and families machines just recently due to the offer prices on SVP.It's PAC not PAC Code, it's MAC not MAC Code, it's PIN not PIN Number, it's ATM not ATM Machine, it's LCD not LCD Display, it's DVD not DVD disc... It's no one not noone, It's a lot not alot, It's got not gotten... Panini is the plural of panino - there is no S!!(OK my English isn't great, the sciences, maths & IT are my strong points!)0 -
Go for an internal one. It's an easy enough job. See this how-to video:
