  • Halifax website is having problems, so I decided to do my Nationwide banking and can't get on there either!!!!

  • Some of the in-branch systems are down too - seems to be a big problem with the Nationwide core systems, not just the on-line interface to it.

No armagheddon, I'm afraid - - online access seems to be working ok now, as do payments.

On my ipad it appears still down (clicking login on Nationwide homepage) and has done since yesterday even though it is up. I think it's probably a cookie related thing. I didn't want to clear all cookies so found a workaround.

I'm on my laptop at the moment and just checked Nationwide and it is working.

Edit: I'm using Firefox on my laptop.
  • I can't use it via Firefox but can use it fine via Internet Explorer.

I've tried clearing all Nationwide-related cookies but no luck with that - but I'm reluctant to clear down all my cookies. There must be another one I've not found yet.

Could try clearing history, perhaps it's that rather than cookies causing the problem in Firefox :)
  • Thanks but got it sorted now.

Went to Options > Advanced > Cached web content > Clear cached web content.

I think the way Firefox optimises browser response by storing links it was still bringing up the cached link to the "unavailable" page.
