Electricty key meter tariff differencial credits?

I have an electricty key meter which is owned by Seeboard. However, my electricty supplier is British Gas and the "key" that tops up my meter is owned by British Gas and sends the payments to them when I top up with credits in a retailer.
Here lies the problem.......... My Seeboard meter is "ticking down" the credits at a Seeboard electricity tariff which is a much higher tariff than British Gas's electricty tariff.
British Gas send me a yearly paper statement saying that I am "x" amount in credit due to the differencial in tariffs but never send a cheque with the statement to reimburse me. This credit is now up to nearly £300, accumulated over a 3 year period.
When I phone British Gas to ask how I actually get the money off of them rather than just a piece of paper with a credit on it they are very unhelpful or don't know how to deal with my query.
I wonder if any of you have had a similar scenario with a key meter credit generated in this way and can advise me how to claim the credit.
Many thanks.

Don't phone , put it in writing then they have to deal with it :-/
And when you ask for the credit to be sent to you also tell them you want your meter set to the correct tarriff,or if they can't do it then they have to arrange for seeboard to alter it,who ever is going to maintain the meter if it goes wrong can alter the tarriff0 -
Seeboard (your host supplier) needs to set the tarrifs. As requested by Brit gas.
The credit will be issued if u phoned them, just asked to speak to the manager, then his manager, then his manager, etc
they'll sure to send the cheque out, although they'll need an up 2 date meter reading
