Installing fence panels - awkward size garden

Hi,
I am looking at replacing all my panels in my garden (over 10 years old and falling apart). I plan to replace the wooden fence posts with concrete posts also. At the bottom of my garden I have a drain cover. The people who put the original fencing up covered the drain cover.
I plan to extend the garden by 1ft so it misses the drain cover completely (neighbours are fine with this). However, this means that I either need to find a fence panel that is 7ft wide or cut down a panel to 1ft wide.
Does anyone have any other suggestions?
thanks

Custom made?
Panel of trellis to add the extra foot?
Do a different type of fence ie the type you nail each piece of wood onto frame seperately (is it feather edge?)If women are birds and freedom is flight are trapped women Dodos?0 -
If you are putting in concrete posts it doesn't matter that the fence panel spans the drain, they are usually fitted so that simply by removing a couple of security screws they can be lifted out, unless you have constant issues with the drain it isn't an issue;)I like the thanks button, but ,please, an I agree button.
Will the grammar and spelling police respect I do make grammatical errors, and have carp spelling, no need to remind me.;)

Thanks,
I was not sure as I was told that any drain had to be fully uncovered at all time. In the 10 years since we moved in we have never had any issues with the drain.
Not sure if this makes any impact, but I am also planning to use concrete base panels as well.
thanks0 -
An option could be to Make a frame for the 1ft part and use some of the old slates to fill it in."The time is always right to do what is right"0
