2 weeks to go as far as possible as cheaply as possible!

Hello
this is my first post although I've been lurking for a while!
I have 2 weeks booked off work in July and can't bear the thought of staying at home by myself. I want to have some sort of adventure.
My vague plan is to just pack a small rucksack, passport and money, and take off, seeing how far I can get.
I'd ideally like to travel to parts of Europe I've not been to before, this would be places in the East and North-East like Poland, Romania, Bulgaria, Hungary, etc.
I have a friend who may or may not be coming.
I'm just after any advice really. I don't want to have a set plan but I'm sure some advance planning would help, especially in terms of sorting out any cheap flights. I know I could get to Eastern Europe by coach but that would take a day or two?
Thanks!

book a flight as far east as you want to gofor the outbound, then as far west as you want to go for the inbound and then fill the bit in the middle with train/bus journeys https://www.seat61.comPosts are not advice and must not be relied upon.0

Hi Misscomickat
have you seen the 1p flights (including charges!!) on ryanair.com. use the moneysavingexpert.com/flightchecker to check first what is still available. I've just booked Dublin, milan and Pisa for 8p. using the easyjets cashback hotel thinggy could be very cheap. There aren't too many flights left especially if up t'north like me. If you are down south you may find something0
