Repeat about the folic acid, make an appointment with your GP asap to get yourself into the system and avoid / watch out with the the following foods:
cooked meat / chicken / eggs properly
soil on fruit / veg (traces of toxoplasma)
no pate (inc veg) or mould ripened soft cheese
drink pasturised milk only
no live or liver products
avoid peanuts / peanut products esp if allergy in either family side
no shark / marlin / swordfish and limit amt of tuna
Stop smoking, or cut down at the very least
Avoid any more than 1 unit of alcohol per week.
If you can handle all the the above, please just remember to start to enjoy your pg.
Hope to see you on the Pregnancy Club thread.0 -
Congratulations!!!! :j
Our little bun was born at 12.08 am yesterday........
I would say definitely start taking the folic acid if not already. There are some great offers on at boots on pre-natal vits, etc (3 for 2 etc), and ifyou sign up for their parenting club you get loads of freebies too, and points.
If your doc is anything like mine, they may not even test you, just accept that you have tested positive yourself. They should then refer you to midwife for booking in appointment. I would chase this if you dont hear fairly soon, as i nearly missed out on my 12-13 week nuchal scan as they were so over booked by the time i had my booking in appointment, etc.
Most importantly look after yourself and get lots of rest. And enjoy the time when you can still see your feet and put your own shoes on :rotfl:What's he building in there???
