Swift Sterling Loan - Lost my job before It started

I took a payday loan with a company called swift sterling a week ago with full intention of paying them back when I got paid. I recently got a new job through an agency so thought I would be fine. Unfortunately that job has now fallen through and there is no job. I don't really know what to expect and am really worried because there's no way I'll be able to pay swift sterling back now. I only earn job seekers allowance at the moment so am struggling as it is. I don't know what to do? Any advice would be great

Well find another job asap or default on the loan and come to some kind of arrangement to pay it back.0

Either beg, steal or borrow to find the money to pay them back. Or contact them to tell them you can't pay and hope they will come to an arrangement.
The first option would be best - sell the Xbox, the TV, the iphone, anything to generate some funds.
Either way, I suggest moving any funds to a new bank account would be a good idea.0 -
Unbelieveable, how did you get a loan whilst UNemployed?
I thought these things were of bounds for people like us!
Well it is an unsecured loan - very low down on list after priority payments if you don't mind a possible trashed credit report, just be prepared to show proof, co-operate and explain, I would try go with token payments of £1 (though must say I'm no longer entirely sure who endorces this 'possible payment notion') till circumstances improves?0 -
Part of getting a payday loan usually incorporates a phone call to an employer as proof of employment. I think I can smell something here?0

You don't earn job seekers. You are given it.0 -
You don't earn job seekers. You are given it.
David Cameron would be proud of you Dovah Diva...However, I think you'll find that in terms of worry, stress, anxiety and sleepless nights, not to mention the humiliating way some Job Centre staff (and I stress some not all) treat their clients, people do actually go through quite a lot for their Jobseekers Allowance.
I for one am sick of the current government ministerial mantra which goes along the lines of: "We want to reward hard work", or "those who work hard must be rewarded". I would work very hard (and hopefully be rewarded) were I able to find employment. However, the best I've been able to do for the past four years has been occasional temporary contracts.
Of course hard work should be recognised. However, a little more compassion and understanding for those like my wife and I who are going through financial hell at present because I'm finding it impossible to obtain permanent employment would not go amiss.
Thousands of people are desperately struggling to find work and many of them are finding it increasingly difficult to listen to the pious uncaring bleatings of Ian Duncan Smith and his cronies.0 -

Emotive rant noted. You still don't earn jobseekers. Oh and please don't assume I know nothing of unemployment.0
