Cannot Connect to Twitter via my Netbook

My Netbook will not let me connect to Twitter, yet my desktop will. This only started about 3 days ago.
I get a message saying 'This connection is untrusted'
Then further down the page under Technical details it says 'Twitter.com uses an invalid security certificate' it goes on to say ...the certificate will not be valid until 10/04/2012. 01:00 The current time is 01/01/2008. 00:02
Error code: sec_error_expired_certificate.
I am using the latest version of Firefox.
I never had this problem before, so can't understand whats going on. I have twitter set as my home page, so I tried to Google it from scratch, or use the links in my bookmarks, but nothing seems to work.
Can anyone tell me whats going on?
Thank you in advance for any advice on this.

Have you checked that your time/date/timezone is valid and correct?0

Thank you so much, the clock was indeed set to some date in 2008 and the clock was wrong too. As soon as I changed it, the page went straight to Twitter.
I thought I was going a bit mad!! Never even looked at the date/time!!
Thank you once again.:):j0 -
Now would be the time to find out how to change your CMOS battery

If it's an older OS (dunno about windoze 8) than windoze 7 then when you click on the calendar, and look back/forward it had this annoying habit of changing the date. I notice this has gone with windoze 7, thankfully!
Otherwise your CMOS battery may be on the way out/died, so you probably should see if it can be replaced. With a netbook I'm not sure if it's gunna be an easy job though, as it might be all sealed up. Post what netbook you have, and people can see if it's easy/quick to do, or how to do it.0
