Hello,
I recieved a PCN today by the council in Newcastle, I was about hour late too my car after my car expiry time, i've wrote a letter too appeal against it explaining i found a gentleman who had head injuries and said he was mugged/beaten up, and that my reason for being late was due to providing first aid and taking him to his relations apartment in the town centre..
I would have thought this is a valid excuse for missing my ticket expiry time, what kind of response can i expect? are they going to go in-depth and require CCTV footage, the gentlemans details and his relations house etc?
Thanks!

Councils can take mitigating circumstances into account, just wait until they come back to you on this. And well done for being a good guyWhen posting a parking issue on MSE do not reveal any information that may enable PPCs to identify you. They DO monitor the forum.
We don't need the following to help you.
Name, Address, PCN Number, Exact Date Of Incident, Date On Invoice, Reg Number, Vehicle Picture, The Time You Entered & Left Car Park, Or The Amount of Time You Overstayed.

They will not go in-depth and will not require CCTV footage.
They will probably reject your appeal hands down - but as long as the back of the PCN says that they 'will re-offer' the discount if you appeal before day 14 then you have nothing to lose by trying. If anyone can corroborate your version of events then include a letter from that person with date/time/detail.
But sadly I still think most Councils would press the 'computer says no' button.PRIVATE 'PCN'? DON'T PAY BUT DON'T IGNORE IT (except N.Ireland).
