  • Well, I went in to speak to the vendor's estate agent today. I made it clear that I was disappointed, concerned that the vendor had gone back on two of the things they'd volunteered information on. Told her I needed to know the timescale, and suggested a completion date of 4/5 weeks from now. She spoke to the vendors - and lo and behold they've said they're ready to move when we are, and they'll go into rented. After my initial explosion of 'We've been ready to move for the last 2 weeks!!!', I'm quite hopeful that things are now going to get moving again (pardon the pun).

I spoke to my conveyancer, and as long as the vendors have passed these glad tidings on to their own solicitors, we're good to go. Not holding my breath, but feeling better about it than I did at the start of this thread.

And finally - just heard from our conveyancers today - they've agreed a completion date of 13th May.

Many thanks to everyone who gave me advice. The trip to see the estate agent (just the day before yesterday!!) was totally worth it.
