Audi Finance

Hi...Has anyone tried to claim from Audi Financial services?

I have the finance agreement (2001) and after a lot of passing the buck to another office, Audi are telling me I cannot claim as over six years old? But I do have the finance agreement so is this correct?
I have told them I will now take to the financial Ombudsman.
Any advice please?

You can't. It is pre 2005 so they weren't regulated, and the ombudsman won't deal with.
You may be able to complaint to the underwriter of the insurance, but that will only work if it can be shown that they were liable.

If you can't show the underwiter could be liable, your complaint is over.

You dont have access to the FOS as its a pre-regulation sale.

The FOS will tell you, after a period, that it is outside of their remit as it is pre-regulation and if the dealer isnt interested in voluntarily considering your complaint (which is highly unlikely they will) then you could try the insurer. There is a really small range of events where the insurer will consider the complaint. It is a tiny number though and the vast majority are told by the insurer that they hold no liability.

Almost certainly, your complaint is over as there are no known cases where the insurer has taken on liability where it was sold via a car dealer.
