Broadspeed - anyone used them?

Has anyone used Broadspeed to buy a new car through? It all seems legitimate and straightforward on their website but as I haven't bought in this way before I'd be interested in hearing of any experiences people have actually had with them.
Thanks

I haven't used Broadspeed but I have bought a new car through a broker. My main concern was handing over a huge quantity of cash to a third party several days before I had the car keys in my hand. If the broker had gone bust in the meantime, I would have been joining a (probably) long queue of creditors.
In the end I found a broker that lets you pay on collection. The whole process was quick and painless.0 -
I used Broadspeed quite a few years ago. Everything was straightforward and nothing was paid from me to Broadspeed (but this might have changed now).0

They now charge £199 once you enter into the deal (researching and quoting is free).
Are there any equally good alternatives - either companies or strategies?0 -
drivethedeal and carfile are similar to broadspeed in terms of discounts.
Can't comment on them, personally, but i know people who've used both without issue.
Is £199 a massive deal breaker?0 -
no - not at all - i was just updating the info - i think an earlier poster said it was all free a while back. No, £199 is probably much less than the net discount or they wouldn't be in business.drivethedeal and carfile are similar to broadspeed in terms of discounts.
