Beware of counterfeit JVC camcorders

A friend of mine was conned into buying a counterfeit MX1000 camcorder.
Along with a "demonstration" and a plausible description as to their authenticity the seller rouse was that it was an unwanted bonus from work and that he was in from Madrid Spain for the week so needed to make a quick sale. The price was £120 and was a very basic webcam quality. This took place in Osterley West London last week at Tescos car park . So beware

Is this the one where the bag turns out to have a couple of bottles of water / house bricks when eventually unwrapped?0

No it can't be as dccantona stated it was of a webcam quality and was counterfeit.

And when would buying a camcorder in a supermarket car park not involve being conned.......0

I saw someone with a holdall full of 'JVC' camcorders at the big car boot sale in Denham a couple of weeks ago (not far from Osterley as mentioned previously)!
I think that you'd have to be mad to buy any 'new' electrical equipment from a carboot / supermarket carpark.Better to die on your feet than to live on your knees!0 -

You made me smile..I quite agree the expressions 'purchased camcorder' and 'supermarket carpark' really only have one explanation!
It's like the bloke at the local car boot sale who sells DVD pirates as 'genuine copies just sold in envelopes instead of boxes' and the woman I work with still argues with us all that she is buying the genuine thing.
I suppose if people didn't fall for it the scammers would have to get a real job.
