Last week my 'adviser' questioned me about my UJM account which is obviously now mandatory...he said as have not ticked the box to allow them access to my account I HAD to bring in screen prints and copies of e mails , interviews and correspondence of my job searches and activities as they will no longer accept a hand written log ..I explained that i was not prepared to do that as i could not afford the printer ink and paper etc as i already get NO BENEFITS...I was then told that if i did not comply with either 1 direction or the other my claim would be closed down ....i am willing to supply proof of Job search either written or electronically ..but not by screen printing ...have i got a case , and are they exceeding their authority ???
Thanks
Thanks

If you allow the JC access to see the jobs you have applied for you need not print them out and no the UJM site is not mandatory at allWe’ve had to remove your signature. Please check the Forum Rules if you’re unsure why it’s been removed and, if still unsure, email forumteam@moneysavingexpert.com0

If you provide a written record of your jobsearch, with the ref numbers, contact details and dates, and the jobsearch complies with your jobseekers agreement, you have done all that is required.
If the adviser "raises a doubt" or want to shut down your claim, they must inform you in writing and give you a right to question their decision.
If you have complied, then the sanction can't stand.
You could also put your screen shots on a memory stick, which is what I do, they they can print it out at their expense, no one ever has, but that is their choice.
It should be remembered that what they ask you to do must be "reasonable".0 -
They will never plug in a memory stick as its a security risk to themIf you provide a written record of your jobsearch, with the ref numbers, contact details and dates, and the jobsearch complies with your jobseekers agreement, you have done all that is required.

Also, according to the DWP guidance, you do not have to allow them access to your account. if you have one.
The UJM site actually says on it that you don't need an account, you can use it anyway.
The account is just for tracking you!0 -

It is manadatory that you register on UJM from 1st March and use the site as part of your jobsearch.
You do not have to provide access to JCP but you do have an obligation to prove you are looking and applying for all suitable positions especially those JCP have 'matched' you to. It is therefor a reasonable request that you prove you have sent an application.
This can be screen prints ETC. You should have access to a computer and printer in your local office.
Makes no difference you JCP if you are getting any paid benefits or not, you are claiming JSA and have signed an agreement so the expected steps are the same.0 -

.......
It did not become mandatory to register on UJM with effect from 4th March but was supposed to be at the discretion of the JC advisor, not a blanket approach. If they felt you were not doing enough to look for work and suggested signing up to UJM would be beneficial to you, but you 'unreasonably refused', then they could issue a Jobseekers Direction and force you to sign up - under threat of sanction.0 -

Do you mean this?
'“The Secretary of State for DWP will make an announcement on 1st March 2013 that, with effect from 4th March 2013, FLAs can mandate claimants to register for UJ. This will be done via a Jobseeker Direction. Importantly, however, management have acknowledged that mandatory sign up to UJ will not be a blanket approach; instead, FLAs should encourage claimants to use UJ. Mandatory sign up will be on an individual basis, if the FLA feels that UJ would be beneficial to the claimant, and they have ‘unreasonably refused’. Management will be issuing guidance around this shortly.'We’ve had to remove your signature.
