with summer in mind, I want to get my feet in tip top condition but cannot get lovely smooth heels. I have tried Australian foot cream and scholl foot cream. Even tried soaking feet in warm water and fabric conditioner! (does help but not cure.)
Anyone know of anything else that might work please

Putting your feet in pineapple juice is meant to help exfoliate the dead skin off according to many beauty magazines. I think you put your feet in it for a little while, then go wash and scrub your feet and the dead skin is meant to come off easier because it helps in dissolve or something.
Sorry for the vagueness, the only time I read these magazines is when bored at the dentists so I can't remember exactly what they said. The "Bloodlust" Clique - Morally equal to all. I suffer this too and have tried using olive oil and socks, vaseline etc. The best cream I have found is Avon's cracked heel cream. There hard skin remover is also very effective.

Get a Newtons foot block from Boots etc. It is a little hard black block in a case. You put soap on it and rub it on your heels. Best thing by far i have ever used. Lasts ages as well. On my first one and i've had it about 6 months.

Thanks for your ideas,
tried the vaseline trick (but wrapped it in clingfilm and then sox - (can you imagine!) helped a bit.
bought the newtons block plus cream - helped a bit.
Suppose I need to persevere with these tips, (I hate to see manky feet in summer shoes) :T0 -
my friend splashed out on a session with a chiropodist... she said that after it was like walking on air and her feet looked great, maybe a visit would be worthwhile for you (think she paid about 25quid )mustn't grumble :cool:0

I too suffered from heel cracks that are painful and my feet need regular maintenance. I was recommended Balsen products which is what pedicurists use.
It wasn't too expensive for the amount and I bought a 'set' and it will last for ever and a day. Although the smell is more functional and herbal rather than perfumed or scented the result is incredible. I now use the lotion instead of cuticule remover on my fingers. I've used Scholl, Compeed, Flexitol products but none of them have ever come close to the result using Balsan. Delivery is really quick too.
According to my beauty therapist friend, what breaks down the hard skin build up is urea, so any product containing urea will help alternatively you could use your own!

Cracked heels are often due to a dietary deficiency of Omega 3 essential fatty acids and/or zinc.
Pumpkin seeds contain both if you dont want to alter your diet too much or take supplements."Life is like a game of cards.
