Lidl do packs of cooking bacon too, £1.89 a kilo. Like everywhere else the actual contents are quite variable, I've had four or five massive gammon steaks in a pack or about a hundred half rashers of streaky bacon. The quality and taste is good though. Well worth trying.Val.0

I like the Sainsbury's cooking bacon (fresh not frozen) - it's always stuffed with thick end pieces of lean gammon. I like to chop up, fry, then freeze so that it's handy for throwing in pasta dishes, omelettes, etc for a quick meal."If you dream alone it will remain just a dream. But if we all dream together it will become reality"0

I find Asda's bacon is not very nice at all, but Tesco's bacon (and indeed their value gammon joints) are very tasty.
I get the big packs/trays of butchers bacon from Morrisons whenever I see them in the reduced section these days as they are the (very nice) bacon from the butchers counter cut up into small pieces and are excellent value & delicious (no huge bits of fat & rind hiding in the pack).
If I need/want sliced bacon I always buy the frozen stuff from Farmfoods, as it's very nice (and cheap)!A waist is a terrible thing to mind.0 -
It's the Great Tesco Cooking Bacon Famine of 2013.

Tesco Brislington, Bristol and Tesco Eastville, Bristol had no cooking bacon yesterday and earlier today respectively. They hadn't sold out, there were no SELs for it.
But, as I said, the supply can be a bit sporadic.
Boiled or scambled eggs for breakfast this week, it seems. If you fold it in half, will an Audi A4 fit in a Citroen C5?
