Hi
I'm having a lot of trouble with my graphics card at the moment and in the last week I have tried 3 different types without any luck the only one I can get to work is a real old old one and the previous 2 I had in there only lasted a year each, I now think there is a problem with my AGP slot as it is very loose which might be causing the problems,
So I thought I should try changing the motherboard, but I'm not to sure what is involved and what I need to look for a compatible replacement.
The board I have is a ASrock K8S8X
OS:XP
CPU: AMD Athlon 64 3000+
RAM: 2x ddr400 512MB
GFX: 7600GS 256MB DDR2 HDTV AGP8X/4X
PSU: ADIANCE PS1V-500-2 400W

Can you tell me if this motherboard I'm looking at on ebuyer is compatible, it's a
K8v-xe Atx Socket754 Via K8t890 Via Vt8251 3gb Ddr400 Sata 10/100

Thank you.

Well you wouldn't be able to use your AGP graphics cards."She is quite the oddball. Did you notice how she didn't even get excited when she saw this original ZX-81?"

If you are getting a new mobo I would abandon the AGP slot and go for a newer graphics card instead.
AGP is yesterdays technology and the computer would gain a lot of performance with a newer gfx card

The Asrock 4coredual is only about £40 and you would need to get an intel 775 cpu as well, but everything else you can upgrade when you want. For graphics it has AGP and PCI Express, for ram it has DDR and DDR2 slots. It is also compatible with all 775 chips from the celerons through to quad core. It's probably the best upgrade you can get to future proof (ish) yourself without having to upgrade everything at once."She is quite the oddball.
