Conflicting info when claiming from Lloyds - What do i do now!?

I am at the stage where i submit my N1 to the court. However i shared my interst working from the calculator with someone and was told they were considerably wrong and the calculator had predicted i was owed far more then was right. I have already sent my letters for the now supposedly wrong amounts to the bank. I will look completely incompetent and am now very nearly pulling out. Is there anyone who can help me. I should have sent the N1 on wednesday this week. PLEASE can someone advise me better?
Thanks

im not an expert, if you used the calculator on Martins guide to reclaiming ,the interest will be correct. It is the same calculator I used (and thousands of others) to get their charges refunded.Or do you mean you have claimed for interest paid on unauthorised borrowing to be refunded, you are not allowed to claim for this. The calculator calculates statutory interest correctly.
  • Yes i used the calculator on here for the stat 8% and someone on the CAG forum told me it was wrong and that i was in fact over by £380 and told it was the 8% of the overall figure and not for each individual Charge. I am so confused as there is so much conflicting info from this site and CAG I am almost tearing my hair out with worry! Considering this weeks failed claim from Lloyds i want to be right, but how do i know what is?
  • Hi, Being the paranoid type I used the calculator on this site AND the spreadsheet template from the CAG site - both produced exactly the same figures, to the penny. I opted for the CAG spreadsheet when posting off my letter, just as it seemed a little clearer to read but made no difference in the amount of interest I am claiming.

Well, that person doesnt' know what they are talking about as it is definitely 8% on each individual charge. You have done nothing wrong so stop worrying.

8% per day (non-compounded) per charge for every charge being claimed.

Thanks for those who have replied.

I have now also used the spreadsheet on the CAG website and also got exactly the same answer.

So therefore the person who told me it was wrong was obviously misinformed.

I appologise for sowing any seeds of doubt and recommend that no one listen to anyone who says anything on this website is incorrect. I certainly wont be.

I have now successfully sent off my court papers and am waiting for a date.

Wish me luck and good luck to all those who are claiming.

Does your letter say that they have 4 weeks before you go to the next step?
