Do I accept the offer or not?

Hi there, I have followed all the steps for reclaiming charges from HSBC of £1039.75 including interest.
I have lodged a claim with the courts and have just received confirmation that HSBC have decided to defend the case and have transferred its hearing from Northampton to Cheltenham where I live.
On the same day as receiving this information I received a second letter of offer from HSBC of £821.00. I am unsure of what to do next:-
1. do I accept the offer, however it is just over £200 short of what I was reclaiming and that does not include the £120 I paid in court fees.

or

2, do I reject the offer and if so any ideas on the wording I should use?

I'm starting to get a little anxious as a single mum this money would be extremely useful and I don't want to end up with nothing.

Any help or suggestions would be gratefully received.
Thanks:confused:

Only you can decide. But to help you, it's extremely unlikely you will end up with nothing if you go for the full amount. It may take longer, but you should get it. If you desperately need the money soon, then you need to make the best decision based on your circumstances.

Ask yourself... Can you afford to lose £320?

As the claim and offer have crossed, I'd write back and ask for the court fees as well. After all, you only incurred those because they dragged their feet.

Don't close the court claim. Even if you do decide to accept an offer, don't do this until you actually have the money.
The acquisition of wealth is no longer the driving force in my life. :)
