Where I live houses are selling for a lot of money and quickly. A friend is buying a standard 3 bed and ending up in a bidding war every time she finds one she wants. Houses that a few months ago that were under £250k (stamp duty threshold) are going for £275. New builds are bing snapped up but then they also were before this scheme. Due to my credit history we cant buy before next summer so I am really worried we will be outpriced if the new scheme in January pushes prices up ( I am about an hour from Bristol in the other direction to Weston).
HOWEVER, I would not buy something for the sake of buying and out of fear. Travel to work can be a nightmare and not great for energy or a social life. What you buy doesnt have to be perfect, you can do it up over time. Look at other renovations and see what you could do, and ALWAYS focus on the floorplans - space is everything, not a newly plastered wall.£2 Savers club £0/£150
