yep apparently 1st and 2nd class are non value indicators, whereas the ones with actual prices like 1p are denominated
True - but they are still definitive stamps i.e. not a short-term issue like a commemorative.

Which would suggest that there are 4 more denominations to add - 1st NVI, 2nd NVI, 1st Large NVI, 2nd Large NVI - which is a total of 20.

Do we also count the country variation definitives? 1st, 2nd, 88p and £1.28 all come in 4 other variants (England, Scotland, Wales, Northern Ireland) so that's another 16 - 36 in total! I'd guess not since these are not actually a different denomination.

There used to be a £10 definitive but I guess that's been withdrawn as it's not for sale on the RM website.
I need to think of something new here...

Agree with NBLondon that 1st and 2nd class stamps are definitive stamps, just read an article stating: Royal Mail have announced "a large revision of all the colours used for the UK Definitive stamps in 2013". This starts on 3 January when the 1st class and 1st class Large change to Royal Mail red.

so yes that would include an additional 4 to the original 16

    I believe current prices are:

    1st 60p
    large 1st 90p
    2nd 50p
    large 2nd 69p
