Free Phone on Tesco Mobile when you buy £30 airtime (merged)

The Nokia 1112 has arrived. In the pack I have the phone, battery and charger and manual, £1 call credit on the sim in the phone and 3 £10 vouchers. I dont appear to have the £10 credit on all tesco phones offer and it has not tracked on Quidco. There was no 'buy on get one free attraction entry vouchers' that some people have mentioned if you spend £10 in a transaction with Tesco. Might as well register it to see what happens. I will take it to Spain on my summer holidays as it says it will cost 40p/min to call home in all the literature I got so not bad for emergency phone and credit. Cost £25 and I got 638 tesco points however. I got a contract phone ending Oct so might be useful to get money back off it then.:j0

In hindsight I think I know where the confusion has been. You order the £30 airtime off Tesco Direct, you then get the phone free (so you dont get an extra £10 free airtime voucher offered by Tesco mobile for buying). I think that is why it might not have tracked through quidco tesco mobile.
I did ring Tescos just to clarify if I had bought a phone or not, but they pretended to be confused. maybe they were or realised there have been some issues with this deal. It appears I have bought airtime, not sure where I stand with any warranty on the phone if it goes wrong, but its a Nokia should be ok. It's a better phone than I thought.
Having said that there is a sim with £10 airtime on offer for £5 still so you can get £30 call time (but with 3 different numbers) for £15. Those who used other vouchers did well with further discounts and if you tracked through Tesco direct on Quidco got a little extra. It was not quite as good as I thought in the end. Seems like we shall have to get smarter to these deals.:j0 -
Despite a call from my local Tesco to say my order had arrived, I got the same "the phone's out of stock" line from central CS. I didn't want just the airtime (and on the Tesco Direct site it says you cannot buy just the airtime anyway), so got them to cancel the order and give me a full refund, as they said I could not reorder with the same deal. The phone is miraculously back in stock now. Highly suspicious. I don't think they'd thought this deal through, and are now not prepared to honour all the orders, as they might just lose out! Anyone have the same problem?0

Dont know if this is the right place to post this, sorry if it isnt.
Has anyone got any problems with their phones? I got the Alcatel OT E225, and for some strange reason it doesnt work for sending texts. I tried the sim on another phone and it worked ok. Can anyone help?

This deal is a right mess. According to Direct I have ordered £90 of airtime and 2 Nokias of which only £30 is awaiting despatch.
I used a combination of money off vouchers, point vouchers and Clubcard
Deal vouchers so paid £2 by card and should have over 600 points as well.
The £2 was taken from my account straight away but I have not had the points added or tracked on Quidco. I expect I will have to ring Customer Services tomorrow.
Just been delivered by Home Delivery. Ony need to pursue Quidco now.Learn from yesterday, live for today, hope for tomorrow. The important thing is not to stop questioning. Albert Einstein0 -
Of the £20 refund they said they had sent as 2 x £10 only £10 was sent to my account. CS say they have now sent the other £10 but will see!0
