madam there is 7 months and we have just finished a 6 week course in baby massage at our local surestart centre and in 3 weeks am starting a 5 week course in baby sign language at the same place, the places are free and are a great way to meet new mums.
also try http://www.waterbabies.co.uk/ it's quite pricy but meant to be great fun.
oh and i've used this website http://www.busylittleones.co.uk/ to find baby yoga classes that start in a few weeks

The problem with formal activities if you are working full time and normal office type hours is that most of it takes place Monday to Friday during the day. Usually nothing in the evening as little ones are past their best and weekends activities seem to be limited to older children.

If you have a childminder they should know of all the children activities and mother and toddler groups. Else if your baby is at a nursery ask them if they know of any activities you can both go to.

Tyler started sing and sign classes at 6months, he loved it and so did I! Have a look at this website for some ideas or DVD's to get an idea about it. We had the sing and sign DVD and Tyler loved watching it and still does now at 3!

Hi i live in the Hampshire area and am looking for some activities i can do with my daughter now she has reached six months, I have looked into Tumble Tots and Krazy Kaves and are already taking her swimming but am just wondering if any other mums have seen any thing else that they would recommend that i could try.

    Thanks

Check out this fabulous website: http://www.dayoutwiththekids.co.uk and select your county, indoor and/or outdoor activities and check "toddlers" and there is a long list of suitable activities available in your area.

I loved going to Baby Rhyme Time at the local library at this age (usually attended by newborn to 18m olds unlike story time which is great too but usually aimed at toddlers). There should be a free session at your local library.

My son could sit in a swing at the play park at 8m old though he was very physically behind so I'd imagine your DD might be able to at 6m and if not, she can do soon. I also held my son on the rocker toys at this age and lay him on the platforms of the climbing frames to have a little crawl and a nosey. Just nice to introduce them to the play park really and get some fresh air.

Other favourites were visiting ducky ponds (oh we do like duckies we do) and going for walks round the shops or countryside and having a chat about what we could see.

With regards to Tumble Tots, do check out softplay facilities in your area (perhaps at the local leisure centre or one of the playgroups) because they're very expensive and only offer limited sessions - if you can get a place!

See if there are any toddler groups at your local village hall/community centre/wherever.

It'll only cost you a quid or so per session and you'll get to meet other parents.

Make a "treasure basket" its a very simple concept designed by leading daycare provider Elinor Goldschmied. Babies are fascinated by the wide range of objects, the basket also helps to develop co-ordination skills.

all depends where you are in Hampshire but there are plenty of beaches around kite flying, sand castles, paddling, boats, other people, other babies, and all free
