No harm in trying. You may find a table top market or craft fair would be better, car boot buyers tend to want cheaper stuff..0

I really don't think you'll even cover your costs. An average price of 50p-£1 seems to be normal, and many car boots cost around £8 to attend. Cards are usually sold as the 'something else' on a stall due to the fact they are not great sellers.I’m a Forum Ambassador and I support the Forum Team on the eBay, Auctions, Car Boot & Jumble Sales, Boost Your Income, Praise, Vents & Warnings, Overseas Holidays & Travel Planning , UK Holidays, Days Out & Entertainments boards. I don't want to put a downer on your idea, but I've seen booters selling homemade cards and the punters (including myself) just walk on by. Your average car booter wants bargains, stuff for next to no money and so I think you may struggle.
But hey, give it a go and find out for youself . As a previous poster has said, you'll have to cover your stall cost and petrol money before you even break even, and that does n't include your time and materials to make them.
Perhaps a crafty type sale, or personalised cards made to order may be a more profitable route.0 -
Oh look at the lovely card I received and guess where they got it? At a car boot sale!0

auntie used to make cards and sell them, not much profit in it and people want hand made cards to be personal, she ended up doing as a hobby for about a year then it got to be a chore.0

Not cards but my Mum knits. She does lovely little baby cardigans which cost her £2 for the wool and buttons. She struggles to get £2.50 at boot sales for them.
Also we do sell them as "the something else" at the table, but you have to careful to keep them well apart from the "junk" so as to let people know that they are handmade and not second hand.;)I HAVE NOTHING TO SAY;)0 -
Quite a few local markets will offer non professional table top days, usually mid week. They usually end up as a mix of second hand bric a brac and hand made items.
They are also often cheaper than a car boot sale for sellers.
Check your local council's website for details..0 -
Try Etsy for any hand-made items.
They need to be good to sell successfully.0 -
It's a bit swamped with certain items, cards are one. I know some do well on Etsy but also know of others that have had items on for a long time with no sales.justapoorboy wrote: »Try Etsy for any hand-made items.
