No sound on Skype video calls with Versus Touchpad 7

Help! I recently bought a couple of Versus Touchpad 7 inch tablets. We've been using them for games and internet and sound works fine. But just started using the Skype app (preloaded onto the tablet) and during video calls there is no sound!!! You can hear the ringing and when you accept the call you can see the video but no sound!! Please help.

Do you get Skype audio when you try a call to Echo / Sound Test Service?

Yes, I do get sound when I try the Echo/Sound test - I hear them and then I also then hear my response repeated back to me so I assume that my speakers and microphone are both working.

When you did the video calls could the person at the other end hear you? Person at other end may have their mic muted or a problem with their mic.

Have you tried a video to video call between your two tablets using 2 different Skype accounts?

No - couldn't hear them and they couldn't hear me but we could see each other.

Yes - we could see each other but couldn't hear each other.

I've uninstalled the Skype and reinstalled the latest version and I now have sound! Thanks for taking the time to reply.
