    But increasing the pressure may also cause eneven wear. It will wear the central band faster than the shoulders. The extra wear could cost more in tyres than the fuel you save.

    My first thought when I read the thread. Reduced grip, uneven and rapid tyre wear, and a harsher ride, versus 1-2 mpg extra. A no-brainer for me.
    If someone is nice to you but rude to the waiter, they are not a nice person.
