Tyre Pressures: fully laden pressures recommended for fuel economy by Skoda UK (&VW)

The Skoda UK website makes the following recommendation to improve fuel econonmy (see here): For my Octavia this would be a change from 2.1 bar at the front and 2.0 bar at the rear, to 2.4 bar at the front and 3.1 bar at the rear. My first thought when I read the thread. Reduced grip, uneven and rapid tyre wear, and a harsher ride, versus 1-2 mpg extra. A no-brainer for me.

If someone is nice to you but rude to the waiter, they are not a nice person.
