well if the manager can with a straight face tell you that "match" is right i would then suggest getting a proper inspection (and report) done by a 3rd party (they will likely charge). Assuming the report is in your favour you then send it to the retailer, if they still refuse to put it right order another 2x4 meters of carpet instruct your own fitter to put it right, then claim the costs back via small claims action.

it is a shame you didnt goto the chain as there currently trialing a "no complaints" policy where the manager gets into a lot of trouble for every complaint that reaches head office so unless its reduclus they will usually do what ever you want.

As you can see it is lined up in the middle and goes further out the further from the centre you go. I would suggest printing this image and showing it to him.

Glad you got it resolved. Funny thing is my first post here was actually to defend the fitters as the amount of times customers complain with stripes on winders when they are fitted correctly.

At least that WAS my intention until i saw the pictures and got angry
