Talk Talk - Give In To Free Calls

Hi

I am an original Talk Talk customer and I was getting fed up with the new offers to new customers only syndrome, so I emailed them once and said I was going back to BT etc etc - they were sympathetic but didnt budge - I left it a week and then tried again, and bingo! they have given in and given me free calls evening and weekends for next 12 months.....SO STICK TO YOUR GUNS!!
Point 2 - My daughter would like after all that to have the use of their £12 (1/2gb) broadband - can she access this on an extension line? within the house?

I have broadband with BT on another line and dont wat to get into wirefree etc

I would think not in fact. Also the £12 offer is only when you take their Option 3 offer which involves paying a monthly charge.

Any reason why you don't want to go wireless? You can do it quite simply now and loads of people on here would suggest the cheapest and easiest way of doing it. ;)

I, too, am an original customer, still on talk 240 - ie 240 minutes free, local off-peak. Very useful while one daughter was local, but now she has moved from the area, I only use it for getting a Chinese takeaway or the like! For all other calls I use 18866. Still, I thought it worth looking at their other options, especially with all their 'free offers to new customers', suggesting to them that I ditch talk240 and sign up as a new customer. They wouldn't have it (6 months or a year to become 'new' - can't remember.) However, the girl said at the time, that she thought offers to existing customers were in the pipeline, so could be worth hanging on. Maybe they are about to roll out the red carpet for their longstanding loyal (ha ha, 18866) customers.

Many many months back I called Talk Talk about getting the free calls like they were offering new customers, they said the only way I could do it was cancelling and signing back up, and wouldn't budge. I emailed them and told them I wasn't satisfied with the response, and they switched me to the free evening and weekend call tariff.

With regard to the question on broadband, you say this is an extension, I take it by that is it is the same line - same number, then no you can only have the one broadband supplier on the line.
It's PAC not PAC Code, it's MAC not MAC Code, it's PIN not PIN Number, it's ATM not ATM Machine, it's LCD not LCD Display, it's DVD not DVD disc... It's no one not noone, It's a lot not alot, It's got not gotten... Panini is the plural of panino - there is no S!!

If you have two separate phone lines and not just using a call sign number, then it should be possible to get broadband on the other line.

Depending on the quality of that line, then you could plug the broadband modem into the extension socket, must be noted only one broadband modem can be on the line at once. The only time broadband doesn't work on an extension is when you are some distance from the exchange and the noise level / signal loss is bad, and those extra few metres of cable from the master socket to the extension throws it out.
