Why has Cheap Energy Club switch failed?

I used the Cheap Energy Club to switch my electricity supplier from Scottish Power to Good Energy on Feb 4th. Good Energy sent me a form to fill in, including direct debit instructions, asked for a meter reading and details of my electricity meter, and took the first payment from my bank account on 3rd April.
Today I was shocked to receive a quarterly electricity bill from Scottish Power. I then checked with the Cheap Energy Club website, and on my account it said "Switch in process". I had no idea the switch had not been completed!
Why has this happened (or rather, not happened) and what can I do about it? I can't contact the energy companies until Monday, but in the meantime it looks as if far from saving money I'm expected to pay my electricity bill twice!

What is the closing date on your SP bill?
If you haven't been contacted to submit a closing read, how did you think the switch could have been completed. On what date did you send the closing read?
Yo won't be asked to 'pay twice', as any credit already in your GE account will be set against your first bill from them.
A typical switch takes 4 to 5 weeks. No free lunch, and no free laptop0 -

I suggest you contact Good Energy.
I've never had a supplier start taking monthly DD's without them first telling me the date the supply stated/would start.
(but then I've never been supplied by Good Energy)0 -
This problem has finally been sorted out, and it was Scottish Power that was at fault.
On 2nd May, on my third phonecall to Scottish Power, having yo-yoed between them and Good Energy, we finally got to the bottom of this. The person at their call centre suddenly said: "Oh! The information we need was actually sent to us on the 13th March! It should have been dealt with then - I don't know why it wasn't!"
The real final bill has now been paid and I hope I never have to deal with Scottish Power again. In future I will stick with smaller companies.0 -
Never heard of good energy and been in the indutry yearsDon't put your trust into an Experian score - it is not a number any bank will ever use & it is generally a waste of money to purchase it. They are also selling you insurance you dont need.0
