i wanna cheap flight to stockholm

i've been to stockholm before with ryanair from london stansted; however the flight times were extremely limited and resulted in waking up at 2am to arrive at about 10am. i'd consider doing it again, but i have moved to the south west, and travelling from there would add an extra 4 hours onto the journey.

so, i am looking for cheap flights to stockholm from airports in the south west of england. i suppose a cheap flight to another place in sweden, or maybe even norway, and then taking a train to stockholm could also work.

i'm very inexperienced at planning holidays ~ i'm only 22 ~ and would appreciate any advice, general or specific!

thanks very much!

edit: i just realised this is probably the wrong forum for this post. i can't find a way to delete it. very sorry!

SAS are starting a direct flight from Bristol to Stockholm next month although it only runs on Mondays and Fridays. Starting return fare is going to be about £100.

The only other budget option I can think of is Gatwick to Stockholm with sterling.dk.

I go to Sweden quite often, and I'm afraid there's nothing really in the same price category as Ryanair flying from Stansted. I live in the Southwest too, in Bristol, so I know how much of a bummer it is getting to Stansted for you. But there's no budget airlines flying to anywhere in Scandinavia from Bristol or Cardiff.

They do have several flights a day to Stockholm, but of course it's the really early ones that are the cheap ones, usually. They fly to both Stockholm Skavsta and Stockholm Västerås, both of which are (of course) nowhere near Stockholm.

Cheapest way to get from Bristol to Stansted is megabus or National Express funfares to London Victoria and then Terravision coach from there. But it's actually pretty cheap on the train with a young person's railcard, if you book in advance.

Sorry to jump on your thread but hopefully any answers to my question might help you out too.
I'd like to ask about transport arrangements at Stockholm - buses, trains etc from the airport (Skavsta) into Stockholm or further afield. How regular, how late at night, cost etc? Thanks.

To find out about transport from Stockholm Skavsta Airport, trying looking at the airport website. You'll find it by typing 'stockholm skavsta airport' into google.

as for stockholm public transport, it's pretty regular and goes pretty late and is pretty expensive. you'll find out everything you need to know from the transport authority's website. you can find it by typing 'stockholm public transport' into google.

The bus from Skavsta goes about 30 minutes after the flight lands and takes about 75 minutes to get to Stockholm's central station (£15 return). If you're on the 6.10 p.m. flight then you will usually get into the centre at about 11.30 p.m. The tube runs until at least 1 a.m. and past 3 a.m. on Fridays and Saturdays. The only train option is a local bus/taxi to Nyköping and then a train but it's dearer and will probably take longer.

Bus times for the return to Skavsta can be found at:
