Appointment for medical

My friend has had a letter asking her to go for a medical with regard to the benefit she is claiming.
She is claiming both ESA and DLA. Will the medical be for both benefits or just the one? If so, how can she find out which one ahead of the appointment?

It will be for one benefit, are you sure it doesn't say n the letter. Has she completed a recent (re)assesement for either of them?Lost my soulmate so life is empty.
I can bear pain myself, he said softly, but I couldna bear yours. That would take more strength than I have -

Definitely doesn't say in the letter. It's ATOS and just says they have been asked by the DWP to carry out an assessment in relation to her benefit claim. There's a leaflet enclosed with the code WCA AL1C 06/12 on the bottom left hand corner, and Jobcentreplus on the top right hand corner.0 -
The medical is for ESA. The clue is in the leaflet - the WCA is the Work Capability Assessment.0

Yes it was completed about 10 weeks ago.
Dogger, thanks for that. I hadn't realised the WCA stood for Work Capability Assessment.
If she returns to work prior to that date is it just a case of phoning to tell them she's stopping her ESA claim and going back to work?0
