Blackberry Messenger substitutes

I am upgrading my phone on Saturday from a blakberry to Samsung galaxy S4 and am wondering if there are any apps where I can still have bbm style chat with my bbm contacts?

    BBM chat only works between BB handsets.
    Don't think their are any apps for Android, Apple or Windows Mobile devices that let's you chat on the BBM network.

    RIM were thinking of launching a BBM chat for other devices a few years ago but it never materialised.

    Try WhatsApp as a substitute.
    There is an app similar to BBM, does not work with BBM tho, by an ex RIM employee, nice app, but never took off, [STRIKE]can't remember what it was called.[/STRIKE]. It is called Kik: http://kik.com/

    Unfortunately not however chaton and whatsapp offer similar functionality
