Ebay/Paypal Fees

Just wondering if anyone can help me,

I got an email on 3/4/13 from eBay saying my seller fee's would be £18.07 and would automatically be taken from paypal between the 15th and 17th. My paypal balance is £0.00 and has been since beginning of the month. Ive been checking and no record of the payment going from my paypal account and under seller account on ebay it says it was taken on the 16th and know I dont owe them anything.

Im sure last time I paid seller fee's it showed up as a transaction on my Paypal?

Just wondering if anyone knows whats going on with it because Im confused!

It would have been taken from your bank account by direct debit

Your bank charges you for an unpaid direct debt and ebay usually fine you £5.

On eBay it says it was paid, I just cant work out where it was taken from as it doesnt show up as a transaction on Paypal and hasnt showed up as being taken from my bank account. As even if its not yet gone out the money shows up as unavailable.

It says paid on ebay a couple of days before they take it. That just means they have applied for the money.

If no money in paypal, they will try your bank.

If nothing there, it will bounce - and ebay fees will again show as being owed.
  • Exactly the same has happened to me. eBay account says the payment was taken on the 15th from Paypal, and it definitely wasn't. I deliberately left the money in my Paypal to cover the fees that were due this week, and it hasn't been taken.

    Weird.

Some sort of strange glitch, methinks.

It can take a few days between them saying they have taken it and them actually taking it. It goes into processing and will then go out of your Paypal account, the period between can be anything from a day to a fortnight, in my experience.
