Cat has hurt paw....

So my cat was lying on the radiator, and she got her paw stuck down the side, I actually had to yank it out for her, she was squeling and scratched me to shreds but I managed to get it out, now she is limping, shes run up and down the stairs and jumped up onto the sofa, but she holds it in the air sometimes when sitting and seems to be limping a little.
Do I just leave it for a few days and see how she goes or take her to the vets?
Only problem I have is my other half is away until tomorrow and I dont drive so I dont really have a way to get to the vets today.
She seems okish in herself, obviously a little bit quiet now but I have given her some biscuits and shes eaten them.

I'd just keep your eye on her for a day or two.
Be warned though, if you fuss over her she will 'limp' a bit when she remembers to!
Cunning creatures cats!0 -
I too would keep an eye on her- you're the best judge as to whether to leave it or go to the Vet. From what you've described I wouldn't take her today but perhaps tomorrow/Monday if there isn't much improvement. I would also while she is asleep perhaps just have a gentle look at the area and pads for redness, swelling or a cut etc. Her reaction to the probing would also be telling!
Maybe in future you could have some emergency taxi money stashed away so you don't have to worry about not being able to get her to the Vet if needed.0 -
Thanks for your replies, I have got taxi money to be fair if needs be.
However she does seem a lot better already, doesn't seem to be limping, shes also had a bit of a play, used the paw in the litter and gone crazy for biscuits, so fingers crossed she is ok!Disneyland Paris (Dream Castle) - January 2010

Have you tried one of those cat beds that hang on the rads? she may like that if she's 1 for soaking up heat0

Yeah both of my cats love to lie on the radiators, so I think I may get some after yesterday.Disneyland Paris (Dream Castle) - January 2010
