Paypal / eBay Refunds Warning Fridays 7am-8am

Please note I am only passing on information given to me by a Paypal technical advisor in the hope it may be of assistance to someone.
There is currently an eBay / Paypal glitch regarding refunds of payments sent on Friday mornings between approx 7am-8am. According to Paypal it is a recent problem and is linked to the newly designed eBay site. Apparently it has something to do with an eBay Europe accounts programme being run in the USA because of some time descrepency they have not factored in. I am not exactly sure on the exact technical specifics of it.
I have had this problem for both the last two Fridays, and have been informed by the buyer each time that their payment has been refunded. When I rang up the first time the Paypal staff member just read from the standard help list and said I must have sent the refund (I was actually still in bed asleep at the time it went through:)). However, when it happened again this week and I was given the standard reply again I insisted to be passed to their technical team who explained the above issue to me and said that they were working on it and are currently sending out emails to make all their staff members aware of it. It's apparently been an issue for the last three weeks!!!
Although this is only a small issue and may not affect everyone, I thought I would mention it as it raises a few problems:
1 - The refund icon on eBay is now very small and could easily be missed, which may lead to items being sent out without being paid for.
2 - The buyer can't get their money back for 5-7 days and if they miss the email informing them may genuinely think they have paid.
3 - I resent an eBay invoice but both times the buyer was unable to pay via it so I had to get their email address (which is now 50/50 as to whether eBay will allow it to be sent in a message) and send a Paypal invoice.
I did search the forum to see if anyone else has mentioned this problem and didn't see anything but apologies if I missed it and someone already has.
