Try the Trip Advisor Hurghada forum. You are very likely to find someone their who knows the hotel.

I was in Hurghada not too long ago, it was over run by Russians and there was not a great deal to do. We were ready to leave after 3 days.
  • We looked at Hurghada, and that hotel, but booked the Canaries instead. Hotel looks really good but after reading reviews of the resort....

As it turned out we might have been better going to Egypt.

Ocean view is actually in el gouna, if u go to that forum on tripadvisor theres lots of comments and info about ocean view.

i have been to its sister hotel rihana resort (also in el gouna) and love it there

el gouna is very different to hurghada as its an enclosed town, no one who doesnt work or live there is allowed in, its very safe and u dont get any hassle from shopkeepers etc

I dont think you will be disappointed with a holiday in Hurghada.

El gouna is very good and has a number of very good hotels. Might be worth considering flight only and use trivago, travelsupermarket and hotels combined for accommodation.Very relaxing holiday with old town and marina area. Slightly more expensive to eat/deink in restaurants but some of the all-inc hotels do a dinearound - you can choose to eat in a different restaurant in participating hotels.

Saahl hasheesh is another area where there are purpose built hotels and apartments with most hotels taking trips into Hurghada which has a huge Marina with bars and restaurants and private beaches.

Makadi Bay also has a number of good all-inclusive hotels

I am staying at the three corners ocean view now and writing this from peanuts bar just outside the hotel. We have been here for ten days and leave on Friday.

The hotel is very nice but not nearly as spectacular as other Egypt hotels we have visited. El Gouna is very insulated from the real Egypt. A gated community and no Russians.

TCOV is on the new Marina overlooking the amazing multi million pound yachts. Food and drink are fine but you have to get a free shuttle bus to the beach. The pool area is too small for the number of guests and the towel game starts at stupid o'clock.

Yes the weather is great. TCOV is fine and I can see why people return time after time. It just is not for us. The absence of kids is good though. Done the bucket and spade stuff and want something different now.
