Samsung plasma TV black screen

Yesterday my Samsung PS59D6900DKXXU went 'bang' and the audio and picture went. I pressed a button on the remote control and the audio came back but still nothing on the screen. I switched the TV off and tried to switch it back on but nothing happens when I press the power button apart from the little red light, which flashes. Now I don't even know if the TV is on or not.
Does anyone know what happened? Any help will be appreciated!
Thanks

12-month warranty has expired... How expensive will it be to replace the power supply? Not too much, hopefully!0

Bought it in October 2011.0

One would reasonably expect a TV to last more than 20 months. Write to the retailer saying that you consider the TV to be of unsatisfactory quality due to its inadequate durability and you would like it repaired at their cost under the Sale of Goods Act.604!0

you MAY need something like this.
and heres a how to http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=AV4bW-bmPII
seccondly i would suggest you take it to someone who can diagnose it, but usually a consistant blinking red power light means the power is insufficient to the TV, some have blink error codes aswell e,g power led flash flash flash off pause of 5 seconds then rinse and repeat.
this is just and example you would need to diagnose the problem source the correct part and then fit that part.0 -
Thanks for the info everyone! Found a similar video to the one you posted and think that that's the problem we've got.
The problem we have is that I bought if from Comet which is now out of business. Can I complain directly to Samsung? Anyone had any experience with their customer services?
I bought it by credit card, does this give me some kind of protection?0
