Balance transfer fee - dummy questions

Hi - I'm in the process of arranging balance transfer (to barclaycard) who request a 3.5% balance transfer fee. Does this get taken once application is approved and card is activated? Also, I assume I have to contact my previous credit card peeps to ask them to close account once Barclaycard have opened new credit card account and transferred balance? Sorry for dumb questions I'm just a bit paranoid I'll forget to do something! Thanks

You can, but you don't have to: Old Credit CardsAlso, I assume I have to contact my previous credit card peeps to ask them to close account once Barclaycard have opened new credit card account and transferred balance?0
