SSE credit checking for an account!

I used the MSE's Energy club and it found me a deal with SSE, it mentioned up to £60 a year less. I'm currently with Co-Operative energy at the moment.
I decided to check my Experian credit file and there was a full credit check with SSE? No mention they'd do this on the online form. I've been with EDF, British Gas, Scottish Power and they never credit checked me.

Just wondering if they will do a monthly feed to the credit reference Agencies?

Well I know BG credit check and report to credit agencies. My understanding is that to be able to credit check you must credit share.

I switched to SSE last August and would very surprised if they checked my credit as I had 2 properties repossessed, maybe they check with your existing supplier.

Why would they not check before granting you potentially unlimited credit?

I understand your point, I mean BT check for a phone service, they BT made a point to say they would do a credit check, but SSE should have mentioned it in the application as banks do for credit cards etc.

Plus, never had a credit check for gas/electric before with some of the main suppliers. Never been with E-ON or Npower so they may credit check.
The deal with SSE after 3 months they credit you with £100 and there's £30 cash back for using MSE's energy club:)

Hi, no they do a full credit check with Experian as it's on my file on the 16th April. Are they ok - customers services?
