Bought some propagators from ASDA last year £1 each, Wish i had bought more now.
They have a 40 cell tray a drip tray and the clear cover. They are fairly strong also.
Stacked 4 high and the bottom one ddint buckle, Maybe different in the summer heat. But an idea of how sturdy they are.
Been to ASDA a couple of times and they dont have these in stock. Smaller windowsill one for £3 which seems like not a bargain.
Im sure i only paid that for the one from B&Q a couple of years back and that also had the peat discs for starting seeds. It did very well and all my peppers germinated in that.
Where does everyone get their propagators from?
Thanks

Wilkinson have in the past sold some very long lasting ones for about £3. They have a website also. I also got some nice quality modules there the other day approx£1.50 for 3 trays which look like they'll be good for a few years.0

I've bought them from Wilkinsons in the past. But I also make my own using punnets from Plums, Tomatoes and Grapes.0

I'm a complete tightwad, and use mushroom containers, ie the 4 x 5 inch ones . As for the lid, a transparent fruit or meat tray does the job.
Water using an old washing up liquid bottle, and let it drip on the surface.

Oh my... Sunday afternoon i splashed out on a heated propagator. 52cm one for £20.
Put some tomato plants in that have been in an unheated frame for a while and a couple of pumpkin seeds that have also been in there for a week or so.
Overnight the pumpkins have risen above the compost level.
If this is the way things grow then im going to need a lot of them... The only thing is where do i put them when the plants outgrow it?Censorship Reigns Supreme in Troll City...0 -

I'm not surprised! When they outgrow it, which by the look of things, sometime Thursday morning, you can use your windowsills to slow things down a little.
