Map of UK freesat coverage?

I have a pad in Brittany France. I know that some ex pats in France watch UK TV. Whether they use freesatUK or SKY or terrestrial digital TV (freeview?) I have no idea.
Is there a map showing the coverage of the freesat satelites so I can see if it covers Brittany?
As a total newbie to satelite..... apart from a TV and a freesat capable receiver... what would I need?
I would like a ground mounted sat dish to begin with, so I can put it in the garden and not have to climb up a ladder to the roof.

Someone asked on here http://www.ukfree.tv/fullstory.php?storyid=19 if they could get freeway in Spain, I think the answer (below) may help
Free-to-air transmissions from the BBC and ITV use a satellite whose 'footprint' is tightly-focused on the UK - see !ASTRA 2D - SES ASTRA . You may still be able to receive them if you have a large satellite dish. Any DVB-S compatible box should be able to receive them, but full Red Button service might only be available from a UK box. Look for Freesat equipment. (RG47SH)0 -
Have a look at this FreeSat footprint webpage...0

Some areas of borth-eastern Brittany can (or used to) receive some terrestial channels via the Channel Island relays. Roughly around Dinan. I have no idea if this is still the case. If not, it would be satellite reception from Freesat, or Freesat from Sky.No free lunch, and no free laptop0

BBC I understand use Astra 1N currently thought in later on these services are due to change to Astra 2E
If you Google Astra 2E apparently there are no official SES predicated coverage maps for the UK 2N beam (SES the company who own and run Astra satellites)
However from the "talk on the street" it looks like the UK spot beam will be very very tight and parts of Northern France, Belgium and The Netherlands may receive some spill over but nothing is guaranteed.
Iceland / Greenland on the other hand may have enhanced coverage :rotfl:

You'll by fine in Brittany even with the move to a new bird
You may want to have at least a 60cm dish to give you some leeway for poor weather but shouldn't be a problem
The Channel Islands will always stay well within the Freesat footprint so Brittany will be fine by default.
If you have plenty of space and no worries about the visual impact, simply fix a 2" pole into the gound where you have a good sight of the satellite - at this time of the year that's not far off being inline with the sun @ 10:00 GMT (so about noon for you) the elevation angle is around 30 degrees so make sure you can clear any trees etc. but if you have good sight of the sun at noon you should be OK
Any modern sat receiver should be just fine for freesat0 -
