Item back up for auction

I avoid "private listings" like the plague. If a seller feels it necessary to avoid showing bidding correlations on their items, it's probably because there is a lot of bidding correlation.
I regularly see rare or unique items like antiques or paintings listed and avoid the auction once I spot it is a private listing... often accompanied by bidding "nudges" of amounts just below natural price points, such as £29.50 or £48.95
Then a week/month later, I see the same item, offered by the same seller!"The secret of life is honesty and fair dealing.

If it is shill bidding you probably have nothing to lose by bidding again - except time and frustration. If the seller won't sell below £100 you can bid £34.56 everytime it comes up and will simply never be successful. But a banker, engaged at enormous expense,Had the whole of their cash in his care.

Wouldn't you expect them to make a second chance offer if that was the case?Or seller has come across a time waster, like I did a few weeks back who waits to win auction and then emails saying 'please cancel my bid, I can't afford it now- sorry for any inconvenience'. I NPBd them, but many sellers are too afraid to do that and would allow a mutual and then immediately relist.0 -

With all the threads we have on here about how all second chance offers are scams, I'm not sure I would.
Whatever is happening I would stay cautious with this seller and not be tempted to go a single penny more than I wanted to pay, maybe even drop the bid price a little- so seller can see that the relist has meant lower bids, not higher ones.I’m a Forum Ambassador and I support the Forum Team on the eBay, Auctions, Car Boot & Jumble Sales, Boost Your Income, Praise, Vents & Warnings, Overseas Holidays & Travel Planning , UK Holidays, Days Out & Entertainments boards.
