Hi All,
We are in the process of buying our 1st home and are reviewing all the items being delivered by the convenyancer.
It got me wondering where do the solicitor's check for bankrupt clients? Is there a database of all past bankruptcies? Do they check your credit record or just the insolvency register? Or do they actually use a totally different sources?

No I'm not, I have never been bankrupt! I don't think you can even hide something as big as bankruptcy from financial bodies? They see everything!!!
I'm just rather curious and just want to understand the whole process. I have read the whole survey, environmental searches etc and I understand the process but bankruptcy search is the least known entity in all the jumble of information in my head.0 -
I also just want to sound really clever in the pub when I explain it to DH about how the solicitor will do the searches including the Bankruptcy search.:rotfl::rotfl:0
