I have just bought a electric Lawn Raker, wanted one last year,
have not opened it up yet incase I decide to take it back,I have heard mixed comments about them, so I thought I would ask you about them,
got some moss and thatch in my lawn, but it is still in good condition, any tips and are they any good,
the tester would be on my mums lawn first hers is full of bouncey moss.
thanks.

Always a good idea to practice on somebody else's lawn first;)
I have a lawn scarifier for my lawn mower (you take the mower blade cassette out and put the scarifier cassette in) but it does the same thing as yours will.
Its best to scarify in early March just before the new growth comes through and again in late September/October as the dead grass, moss, thatch settles at the base of the grass. Dont scarify if the ground is dry as this will pull the grass out and finally as its an electric scarifier, scarify in straight lines (no drinking the night before) and only go over it once, although the temptation will be to go over it again and again, once you see how much thatch comes out.
If moss is building up, it may also be worth aerating the ground after scarifying.0
