More strange email goings on in Outlook Express. Now when sending (I can receive ok) I get this message (An unknown error has occurred. Account: 'mail.o2.co.uk', Server: 'smtp.o2.co.uk', Protocol: SMTP, Server Response: '421 mail.o2.co.uk Service not available - too busy', Port: 25, Secure(SSL): No, Server Error: 421, Error Number: 0x800CCC67) I then try again and it hangs for quite while until giving me the of canceling or waiting. If I opt for "wait" it sends straight away.

This happens everytime now.

Any clues ?

So firstly, I'm assuming you didn't just try and paste the entire error message above into google and see what that came up with? It's always worth a punt with obscure error messages.

What it seems to be saying is that something in your email client (outlook express?) is not working with your ISP. There are also references to anti-virus getting in the way.

so.... when did this crop up? were there any changes to your system that you're aware of (such as system updates, anti-virus updates etc etc) which may have caused the problem?

I would confirm with your ISP what their email settings are. See if you can get to your email account via webmail (if possible) that way you'll know you have a valid working account.

Set up your email exactly according to the instructions of your ISP (get the detail from their website).

if it's still not working. maybe change your anti-virus.

sorry I can't be much more help.
