What are the fire regulations for a private holiday accommodation in the Canary Island please?

    You should have waited to book elsewhere until the owner had a chance to fix the shortcomings.
  • With the amount of issues for me it was impossible to spend one more night there! We had cleaned ourselves to try and 'make the best'. It was a large cavity cut into the mountain with only two windows in the front, neither one of them opened more than 3 inches making it a death trap if a fire broke out! The description of 'step out to the pool' should have actually read "walk down 14 wooden stairs with no banister on either side then through a small junk yard and through washing lines before turning the corner and finding the pool!!!

    If the property is not registered as a business, the answer is the same as here in the UK, there are no regulations. This makes it very difficult to do very much, you can ask for a refund, and they can ignore it..... one of the penalties of booking privately. How do you find the property, did they have their own website or was it booked through an agency or magazine that might, and it is only a might, offer a dispute resolution service
