... Any advise on what I do now?
I ignored the last letter from them with the Northampton CC details on it as it didn't look very official ... Please help me get rid of these bullies.
Oh dear. If the letter from Northampton CC had a claim number and court stamp on it, you really should have not ignored it, or at least phoned the court to make sure it was real, which it obviously was.

    You now have two choices:

    1) Pay the Judgment amount within 21 days to avoid getting a CCJ recorded against you,

    or

    2) Use form N244, and pay a non-refundable £80 to apply to have the Judgment set aside, which means the case is reset to the claim stage. However, the Court may not grant your application as you don't have a good reason for not responding in the first place.

The time for "getting rid of bullies" has passed, I'm afraid, it's the Court system you must now engage with.

I have been providing assistance, including Lay Representation at Court hearings (current score: won 57, lost 14), to defendants in parking cases for over 5 years. I have an LLB (Hons) degree, and have a Graduate Diploma in Civil Litigation from CILEx. However, any advice given on these forums by me is NOT formal legal advice, and I accept no liability for its accuracy.

Register on pepipoo and send a pm to Broadsword - he is looking for a case just like yours and he is on the good side. :) Think he wants a particular type of case to offer specific help with - and yours seems to fit that bill. I'd do it, he is trustworthy.

Ignore PE and don't reply to any pm on here or on pepipoo pretending to be broadsword or pretending to offer 'help'. This is a thread by 'the poster I mean = 'Broadsword' on pepipoo. Just click on his name there (once you've registered) to send him a pm please, sandynurseP:

...and that was your downfall. This was NOT following advice from forums at all. We used to (still do) tell people to ignore all the debt collector letters - and only take seriously real Court papers. You ignored real Court papers when you could have defended it and won. I didn't think it was real! a family death kind of distracted me at the time.

Sorry to say, you will have to pay PE who must be laughing their heads off at default wins like your case. Not very helpful ridiculing me! Not sure why you posted on this thread which is not about Court papers at all and should be left for the OP to update when they want advice. Being a newbie I didn't realise, sorry!

Thanks for advise, today I phoned the court and they advised the same (form N244) which I have now filled in. I explained that my post round is an overtime round and didn't receive the claim letter so have explained this in N244, will see what happens! Had I not had a death in the family my mind would have been right on it and beaten them but hey ho! some you win some you lose!

Thanks very much for your advise.

Sorry I was pretty harsh there TBH, looking at it again, and I am really sorry about your loss (I've lost family members at a young age too). :(

You said 'I have taken the advice from numerous forums to ignore everything they throw at me' and I felt that was not really a fair comment, since neither here nor on pepipoo would you ever have been told to ignore a small claim from Northampton Court.

I guess you could try getting it re-set but that will cost you £80 as already advised, with no guarantee of success. Maybe the mitigating circumstances of your loss will persuade them, hope so - because with pepipoo's help you could defend the claim successfully.
