AA stole my money

So knowing your mortgage will be unpaid on Friday, you go on the web on Thursday night to find out advice?
I'd be phoning your lender asap to explain.
And they've not stolen your money.0 -

I'd had two attempts at making my post in response to your first paragraph, but never noticed your edit at the time of posting the second attempt.a debit card payment would have been triggered at the time it was taken rather than requested a few days before0 -
I transferred money around to satisfy the mortgage payment, the relevance in the question was to attempt to speed up the return of my money.
I fail to see why a payment cannot be halted 24 hours prior to it being requested.
My definition of theft is to take without permission, I removed that permission (CPI) therefore see it as theft.
I came on here to see where I could complain onto and appreicate the poster who pointed me to the FOS as I had previously discounted it.0 -
Further to the "it's all his fault" posts.
Nowhere in the renewal letter did it give a timescale for cancellation but simply had contact us or the do nothing to carry on.
The person I called to cancel the policy did not inform me that this might happen.
Thanks again for the decent advise and a bit less sniping please.0 -
Just make sure it's been cancelled and not been put into the "suspended for 3 years" pot.0

I had a nice email from a concerned customer services rep who kindly sent me a cheque for my inconvenience in addition to the full refund (albeit 11 days after taking it). Quite happy to leave the matter at that but hope others see that by taking a stand you can get some recompense.The_AA_Company_Representative wrote: »Hello Muckledunfs, there are a number of points raised in your post that we would very much like to discuss with you. Very similar thing happened to me where AA decided to take money from my account with no notice from what they claim is a CPA on an expired debit card, despite the fact I cancelled the CPA in writing to them shortly after taking out the policy which was a freebie with home insurance.
They took the money for a policy despite me having another policy in place with them which was current at the time. I claimed the funds back through the DD Protection Scheme. AA sent me a refund cheque some 6 weeks later so glad I didn't wait for them as I am on a very small fixed income. To see what happened, I banked the cheque but they cancelled it, so they appear to be a lot more careful with their money than they are with that belonging to customers.0 -

Not sure why this is relevant. Do you also have your own definitions of murder, burglary etc? I expect it would be a winning proposition to say "No. I am not guilty as my definition is different!0
